CCS – Individual Skill Development Enhancement Providers
Training in a variety of skill areas that build functional independence. May include: transportation training, grocery shopping, cooking, household management, cleaning, laundry, communication skills, problem solving, systems navigation, community-based resource location, etc. Services are intended to be time limited and move toward independent application of learned skills.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent: An Associates, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology
- Criminal Justice or Human Service Field is Preferred
- Experience working with youth preferred (Will Train)
- Wisconsin driver’s license and valid car insurance
- 2 letters of reference Hourly pay will be $20.00 – $30.00 per hour based on service provided, degree, and/or experience
CRISIS STABILIZATION WORKER (5303 & 5303B)
Purpose & Scope
Crisis stabilization is an on-call position in which the worker provides one-to-one crisis stabilization/supervision services for the youth and family. The youth, due to his/her emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges, needs support to remain safe and in the in the least restrictive setting possible. The primary goals are to prevent and/or ameliorate crises that could result in psychiatric hospitalization or residential placement and to teach the youth and family effective ways to respond to triggers that may result in a crisis.
Education/Experience
For 5303:
- Proof of, at minimum, a high school diploma or G.E.D
For 5303B:
- Proof of a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of education, human services or health care AND one year of full time (pre or post degree) experience in a human service arena providing direct mental health services to youth with serious emotional, behavioral or mental health challenges
OR
- Proof of a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree NOT in a relevant area as stated above AND at least 4 years of training or work experience providing direct mental health services to youth with serious emotional, behavioral or mental health challenges
Required Training
Initial training is between 20-40 hours depending on prior experience
Ongoing annual training per agency policy and individualized recommendation
Required Staff Documents/Expectations
- Two letters of professional recommendation
- Completion of required Background Check(s)
- Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License & Auto Insurance
- Completion of a Drivers Abstract evidencing an acceptable driving record
- Vehicle must be properly registered and in good working condition
- Working cell phone with activated voice mail
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- To build a strong, trusting relationship with the youth & family.
- To help the family recognize unsafe and risky behaviors.
- To teach and model effective ways to respond to a crisis.
- To help de-escalate crises.
- To assist youth in finding lasting community supports and resources to assist with preventing crises and meet his/her ongoing needs.
- To be an active participant on the Child and Family Team and attend monthly Team or Plan of Care meetings.
- To promote the youth’s safety and well-being per the Plan of Care and the Crisis Plan.
- To initiate discussions about crisis & make suggestions for positive change and a healthy lifestyle.
- To teach and model positive coping strategies.
Essential Skills & Knowledge

- Has effective modeling and coaching skills.
